James “Wires” Kinstler, age 66, of Millcreek, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Erie, PA on April 28, 1951, a son of the late Clyde and Helena Bole Kinstler.
He was a 1969 graduate of McDowell High School and served in the United States Navy from 1970-1974.
James worked for General Electric as a Safety Coordinator and electrician for 28 years where he was known as “Hollywood”.
He recently served as President of the Sportsman Athletic Club and also served on the Board of Directors, and was a member of the American Legion #773 in Millcreek and the Elks Club. He loved water, beaches, boats and Corvettes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Ann Dietrich; and a sister, Debbie Dilimone.
James is survived by a son, Jason and his wife, Nadine; a daughter Jennifer and her husband, Jason; four grandchildren, Alexis, Maxwell, Demarko and Jayla; step-grandchildren, Emma and Lilly; a sister, Kathie Danowski and her husband, Dan; two brothers, Bobby (Shirley) Kinstler and Mark (Chris) Kinstler. He is further survived by his current companion Dawn Adler and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Avenue), on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Monday at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
