James Kinney

James Joseph Kinney age 80, of Erie passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Dunkirk, NY.

James graduated from Manhattan College with an Associates Degree and went on to serve in the United States Navy.

He was a member of The Family Church of Erie.

James enjoyed going to church and scripture reading. He enjoyed rooting for his Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed watching old movies and reading. He had a great love of words and enjoyed puzzles, scrabble and writing poetry. His favorite time was spent with his family, especially his granddaughter’s Brooke and Grace, his “lovely ladies”.

He is survived by his wife Betty Lou, his stepson Rick Talbot (Eileen) and his granddaughters, Brooke and Grace.

Friends may call on the family at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
