James M. Galvin

James M. Galvin, age 82, of Erie passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 at UPMC Hamot. He was born April 29, 1941 in Erie the son of the late John P. and Angeline (Onorato) Galvin.

A lifelong resident of Erie, Jim worked as a sheet metal worker with Local 12. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys. Jim was also a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns and Guardians.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel P. Galvin.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (Beers) Galvin along with three sons; Craig M. Galvin and his wife Julie, David M. Galvin., and Christpher J. Galvin, all of Erie. He is the brother of Dennis Galvin (Patricia) of Canton, OH and Sybil Villanueva (Richard) of Orlando, FL. He is the proud grandfather of Anthony, James, Meghan, Kyle, Tyler, Lexi, and Chase Galvin and the great-grandfather of Tyler, Shaylyn, and Brayson Galvin. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Santina Galvin and his “fourth son” Hector Figueroa

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at which time Funeral Services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W.8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
