James Flynn Sr.

James F. Flynn Sr, age 77, of Erie and formerly of Bradford, PA passed away quietly on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Erie.

He was born in Bradford, PA on October 31, 1939 a son of the late W. Glenn and Audel Wetzel Flynn.

James was a 1957 graduate of Bradford High School and served four years in the US Army in Vietnam with the Army Security Agency. He worked for thirty five years as a salesman with Beckwith Machinery. He was also the Past Master of Lawrence Lodge 708 and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. James volunteered with DAV Transportation and drove for Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. He was a member of the NRA and “Old Spooks and Spies” A.S.A.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn W. Flynn.

James is survived by his wife Michaele (Kaele) Birmingham Flynn along with children; James F. Flynn Jr. (Cathy) of Cumming, GA, Lisa Bogle (Patrick) of Erie, Scott Michael Flynn (Jessica) also of Erie, Kyle Owen Flynn (Amy) of Titusville, FL, Joshua Nickerson (Robin) of Erie, Michelle Daeschner of Erie and Conor O. Flynn (Mallory) of Provo, UT. He also leaves three grandchildren; Jacob Paul Flynn and Zachary James Flynn both of Cumming, GA along with Tyler James Bogle of Erie. James also leaves two great grandchildren; Bentley and Brookelynn Flynn both of Provo, UT. One sister also remains, Linda Wolcott (Nord) of Tinley Park, IL. and several nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends, Norman and Kelly Geist.

Friends may call on Monday from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, PA 16502 and are invited to services there on Tuesday at 11:00 am.

Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
