James “Jimmy” Dilimone, Sr. age 79 of Erie passed away on Sunday November 17, 2024.
He was born in Erie’s Little Italy on June 16, 1945, a son of the late Anna (Ricci) and Michael Dilimone Sr.
Jimmy attended Academy High School. He worked as a boiler maker at Zurn Industries for 30 years until it closed. He also worked for the Erie School District and then retired from GE after 12 years in 2011. After his retirement he went on to help manage his son’s bar Reno’s where he could be found serving a nice cold one and having conversations with many patrons he considered like family.
Jimmy was a member and former Union Steward of United Electrical Workers Union Local #506, member of United Steelworkers of America Union Local #3199, a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Club and also belonged to the Siebenbuerger, Nova Aurora and Moniuszko Clubs. He was an avid bowler, active in the Brothers and Grandpa Leagues, a Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees fan and loved his dogs.
This past year Jimmy fought a hard battle with lung cancer and in his final months he was cared for by his daughter Theresa Fullerton-Abbey and her husband Rocky and his son Mike Fullerton Sr and his wife Missy. Not every man could help raise someone else’s children but Jimmy did just that without any hesitation and those 2 children along with his wife and 4 grandchildren were the loves of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jeff Dilimone, Mike Dilimone and Joseph Dilimone; his sister, Marie Dilimone and a grandson, Kevin Fullerton.
Jim is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janice Elaine Brady Dilimone; children, Theresa Fullerton-Abbey (Rocky) of Millcreek, Michael Fullerton Sr (Missy) of Erie; James Dilimone Jr (Wendy) and Annette Dilimone both of FL; grandchildren Michael Fullerton Jr, Madison and Shawn Deegan and Alexis Fullerton; and his siblings, Dick, Nick, Tom, Shirley, and Annie. He’s further survived by many brothers and sisters in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
