Jacqueline Pierce

September 23, 1918 — February 9, 2016

Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Didier Pierce, 97, of Erie, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Sunrise of Presque Isle Bay.  She was born on September 23, 1918, in Le Havre, France, daughter of the late Adrien and Cecile DeLaMare Didier.  Mrs. Pierce was an avid knitter, enjoyed cooking and traveling, and loved having her glass of red wine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Merlin G. Pierce in 1999 and two brothers, Noel Didier and Claude Didier.

Survivors include two daughters, Claudie Rusk (Lawrence) of Louisville, KY and Patricia J. Pierce of Erie; a son, Richard M. Pierce (Marla) of Myrtle Beach, SC; two granddaughters, Kristen Rusk of Louisville, KY and Chelsea Pierce of Southwick, MA; four grandsons, Neal Devlin (Daria) of Erie, Michael Devlin (Melissa) of Bethel, CT, and Tyler Rusk and Wesley Rusk (Molly) of Louisville, KY; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathaniel and Alexander Devlin, all of Erie, and Vivienne Rusk of Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 3930, Erie, PA 16508; or to The ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, PA 16511.
