Jack Andrew Hooper, 64, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 27, 2023, at his home. He was born on May 4, 1959, in Ligonier, PA, the son of Harry and Janice Galbraith Hooper.
Jack was a graduate of Ligonier Valley High School in 1977. He worked as a Car Salesman for 31 years at McQuillen Chevrolet GMC. He was a man of strong faith and was a member of the McLane Church in Edinboro. Jack was a professional bowler back in the day and continued to bowl recreationally in a local league. He enjoyed golfing with friends and gardening in his spare time. Jack was a proud Steelers fan and enjoyed going to the games. But more than anything, Jack loved people- especially his kids and his grandchildren. He dedicated his life to being the most amazing father and grandfather. He was so very loved by everyone, and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jere Hooper in 2022.
In addition to his parents, Jack is survived by his two daughters, Jaclyn (Andrew) Hooper-Hicks of Richmond, VA, and Julia Hooper of Erie, PA; his son, Jonathan Hooper of Erie, PA; two grandchildren, Anderson and Amelia Hicks; and his brother Jeff (Jovi) Hooper of Port Angeles, WA.
Everyone that knew Jack talked about how funny, kind and outgoing he was. He always knew how to light up a room with his lighthearted and happy personality. Jack was no stranger to challenges, but never let them steal his joy. He talked to anyone and everyone that would listen and enjoyed going out of his way to make people laugh. He spent his life giving whether it was to his family, friends, or a stranger in need. He had many wonderful friends who were an important part of his life. He lived an active social life and will be profoundly missed. Jack will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 2, 2023, at 1:00pm at Burton Funeral Home’s picnic pavillion, 525 Main Street East, Girard. The service will be led by Pastor Mike, from McLane church.
Memorials may be sent to McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Road, Edinboro, PA 16412 or to the charity of one’s choice.
