Jack L. Fox, age 86, of West Lake Woods, and formerly of The Regency at South Shore and Fairview, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Erie on May 17, 1926, a son of the late Frank and Alma Turner Fox. Jack attended Erie Technical High School and then served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He had been a carpenter and expeditor at Zurn Industries for 38 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid reader.
Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Marybelle Herrick Fox. He is survived by a son, David L. Fox and his wife Beth of Girard, a grandson, Nicholas Fox also of Girard, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fred Ayers, Jr. of Walnut Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Walnut Creek Baptist Church, 6015 West Ridge Road, Erie, PA 16506.
