Irma M. (Bogolin) Lyden
Irma M. (Bogolin) Lyden, age 90, of Hermitage, PA died Sunday October 19,2014 following a brief illness. She was born June 10, 1924 in Moon Run, PA the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Trobentar Bogolin.
A lifelong resident of the Shenango Valley, Irma was a graduate of Hickory High School and she and her late brother, Bill Bogolin, along with their spouses own and operated Bogolin’s Market in Sharon, PA. The market which featured fresh cut meats and homemade smoked sausage was started in 1928 by her parents and finally closed its doors in 1991. A faithful Catholic, Irma attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and loved to recite the rosary each evening. She was a longtime member of SNPJ Lodge 31 and enjoyed attending social functions and events where she loved to meet new people. Irma had a special place in her heart for all animals, and made sure that any stray or lost pet that crossed her yard was given food and shelter. She was also a longtime Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Bogolin and a sister, Dorothy Bogolin.
Irma is survived by her husband of 61 years, Matthew P. Lyden; a daughter, Patricia A. Slomski and her husband Philip, and a son, William M. Lyden and his wife Renee, all of Erie, PA. She is also survived by a grandson, W. Patrick Lyden of Charlotte, NC and her beloved cocker spaniel, “Precious Casey”. Aunt of Barb , Tony and John Bogolin and a sister-in-law JoAnn Bogolin.
Per her wishes, funeral services will be private.
