Irene Shah

Irene Rita Shah, age 34, of Fairview, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at her home.

Born in Erie on May 27, 1979, she was the daughter of Bob and Irene Rita Patterson of Fairview.

Irene was a 1998 graduate of General McLane High School. She worked as assistant manager helping her husband run the Quality Inn and Suites in Fairview. Irene was loving mother and was very supportive of her son’s participation in wrestling and football at Fairview and Prep. She had a wonderful spirit and loved making others happy over herself. She was dedicated mom and homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Irene is survived by her husband of 10 years, Ankur D. Shah, her son Michael S. Hughes, her siblings: Robert Patterson and his wife Le Anne of SC, Jennifer Frisina and her husband Tony of Erie, Wilma Patterson of Fairview, Jacob Patterson of Fairview, Carl Patterson and his wife Anne Marie of Cranesville, and Adam Patterson of Fairview; and her in-laws, Dinesh and Kalpana Shah of Fairview; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11 a.m. in Burton’s All Faiths Chapel with Rev. Charles Cammarata officiating. Burial will follow at Sterrettania Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Irene’s son, Michael, in care of Burton Funeral Home.
