Irene Mowry

Irene E. Mowry, age 83, formerly of Lake City, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.

She was born in Franklin, on August 4, 1932, a daughter of the late Clifford Reid and Leah Whitcomb Reid Kehrli.

Irene graduated from Rocky Grove High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, playing bingo and participating in bowling leagues in the Girard and Lake City area. She was a former Eagles #408 member in Conneaut, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sigsbee Mowry; grandson, Ellsworth Webber III; granddaughter, Brenda Melzer and a great granddaughter, Heather Nicole Mowry.

Irene is survived by her daughters, Sandra Vorse (Albert) of Girard, Diane Webber (Fredrick) of E. Springfield, and Crystal Carr (Les Graves) of Lake City; sons, Eugene Mowry (Patricia) of W. Springfield, Louis Mowry (Cherly) of Burlington,MA, Samuel Mowry (Michele Sheesley) of Erie and Howard Mowry (Kathy Lilley) of Girard; one sister: Marlene Keith (Larry) of Franklin; two brothers, Clifford Reid (Doris) of Dalzell, SC and Thomas Reid of Youngstown, OH. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Thursday at 10 am. Burial will be at Girard Cemetery.
