Irene Koeck

Irene Tekla Koeck age 92, of Fairview, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Fairview Manor.

She was born on December 20, 1923 in McKees Rocks, PA, daughter of the late Martin and Cecilia Danner Bucheck.

She is a 1941 graduate of Academy High School and worked as a secretary at Marathon Electric Industrial Systems Service. She was a member of Holy Cross Church in Fairview and enjoyed playing bridge. Irene was a fan of the Duke Blue Devils, the Boston Celtics and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Irene and her late husband Joseph were the first to have a home built in the Fairview subdivision of Walnut Heights in May of 1959.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband Joseph M. Koeck, who passed away in 1985.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Koeck and his girlfriend Lisa Grotkowski of Fairview, and John Koeck and his wife Michelle of Girard; and three grandchildren, Jamie, Jesse and Jillian.

Friends may call at Burton’s West Lake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St., (at Powell Ave) on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
