Irene Chelune

Irene Louise Chelune, age 99, of Albion, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

She was born, in Brooklyn, New York, on October 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Albert & Mary (Howard) Bajohr.

Irene worked as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of the Elk Valley Garden Club in Girard for many years.

In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband, Robert.

Irene is survived by her daughters, Irene Smith, of Erie, and Marilyn Giaccaglia, of Miller Place, NY; and her grandchildren, Antonio Federico (Jennifer), of Egg Harbor, NJ, Tricia O’Donaghue, of Center Moriches, NY, and Melissa Curtin (James), of Sound Beach, NY. She is further survived by ten great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, all services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial is at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY.
