Igino (Gino) Macerata, age 87, of Erie passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 1, 1931 in Erie the son of the late Eusebio and Lena (Totleben) Macerata.
Gino was a 1950 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and following graduation, he served as an Army medic during the Korean War.
Gino was retired from American Sterilizer where he had worked for many years as a draftsman.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed working in his garden, flower beds, and yard. He was also artistic and enjoyed drawing and crafts. Gino also had many friends at the Glenwood YMCA where he would work out and exercise.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Macerata.
Gino is survived by his beloved sister, Domenica (Menga) Macerata of Erie along with a niece, Arlene Nemenz (Bob) of Kennersville, NC ,and special thanks to my two nephews, Donald Macerata, Jr. (Diane) and Mark Macerata, all of Erie. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Edna Macerata and a special cousin, Anthony Letizio, Sr. along with many great- nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Wednesday at 11:00 AM followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
