Ian Lutz

December 12, 1995 — August 2, 2013

Ian R. Lutz, age 17 of Erie, passed away on Friday August 2, 2013. He was born in Erie, PA on December 12, 1995, the only child of Terry L. and Gindy Hartman Lutz.

Born with cerebral palsy, Ian graduated from the life skills course at Wilson Middle School. Ian loved to play basketball and have his family read to him. At age 9, he became confined to a wheelchair. Regardless, he was the happiest kid with the prettiest blue eyes. In addition to being a Steelers fan, he loved his dogs and Sponge Bob. He was loved by his parents and he was their “hero”.

Ian was on the prayer chains at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rochester, PA and the Lanse Evangelical Free Church in Lanse, PA.

Ian was preceded in death by two uncles, Robert Lutz, Jr. and Troy Edward Hartman.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents Kaye and Roy Hartman of Freedom, PA and Robert and Eleanor Lutz of Lanse, PA, his home town grandmom Karen Troxle of Erie, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Monday August 5th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd. (across from Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery) and then on Tuesday from Noon until the time of the service at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
