With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Hubert A. St. George, age 95, a devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Hubert passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Hubert was born August 16, 1929 in Erie the son of the late Frank and Antoinette (Martinson) St. George. A lifelong resident of Erie, Hubert graduated from Gannon College and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He also served with the US Air Force during the Korean war. He was a funeral director for more than 50 years with the St. George, Orlando and Quinn funeral homes, compassionately serving families with care, dignity, and respect.
Hubert was especially known for his kindness, sense of humor, and his talent for building radio control airplanes, boats and later in life, model train displays. He was also a member of the Probus club and St. Paul RC church.
Besides his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by daughter Laurel Ann; his wife Anita Julia St. George and his brothers Alton and James St. George; and sisters, Frances Carbone and Claire Lorenzi.
Hubie is survived by his children: John St. George and Kathy St. George, David and Mary St. George, and Ann St. George. He is the grandfather of Christian Simpson, Natalie St. George and David St. George, as well as great-grandchildren and many other relatives, friends and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.
Hubert’s family would like to thank the staff at LECOM Glenwood and VNA Hospice for the wonderful care provided to their father.
Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc., West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St. on Thursday March 13, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Further visiting on Friday at St. Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut St. from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at which time a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
