Hildegard Clark, age 86, of Millcreek passed away Monday November 26, 2012 at Saint Vincent Health Center.
Hildegard was born in Ried, Austria on December 14, 1925 a daughter of Eugene and Maria Kastl Windbauer. She graduated from Ried High School and managed a bookstore there.
She met her late husband Craig, when he traveled with the U. S. Army Band. They were married in 1954.
Hildegard worked at the Lerner's store in downtown Erie for several years. She was a homemaker after her children were born. She was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church in Millcreek.
Hildegard greatly enjoyed being and working in the outdoors and especially liked gardening. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and crossword puzzles. She loved listening to music and being around children.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Craig Clark in February of this year, and by four sisters Eva Chaika, Katie Eschig, Christine (Erna) Windbauer and Gina Whest.
She is survived by two daughters, Eva Clark-Aleksandrowicz and Cindy Clark-Wilcox and her husband Michael; three grandchildren, Stephanie and James Aleksandrowicz and Maya Wilcox; a sister, Lisa Alker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service there at 2:00pm with Rev. James Haas officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
