Hershell Clemons

Hershell Clemons, age 66 of Girard, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at St. Vincent Health Center.

He was born in Jackson, KY on March 18, 1949, son of the late Virgil and Julia Patrick Tharp.

Hershell worked at Superior Bronze Company, 19th and Poplar for 30 years.

He was very family oriented and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, 17th and Poplar. He was a jokester, and enjoyed camping with his brother.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Bill Stidham.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Geraldine Nickell Clemons, who loved him very much. He is also survived by daughter Melissa Clemons (Mark), brother Virgil Tharp (Susan), sister Debbie Mineo (John); grandchildren: Anthony Clemons, Trevor McCray and Ashley McCray; niece Michelle Lamothe, sister-in-law Mary Jo Stidham, two aunts, an uncle, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Sunday, March 22 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm and are invited to services there on Monday, March 23 at 11 am with Jody Irwin as celebrant.

Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
