Hercules Rieger

Hercules (“Hun Doe”) Brown Rieger, Jr., age 39 of Erie, died Saturday August 23, 2014.

He was born in Erie on July 9, 1975, a son of Nancy Rieger and the late Hercules Brown.

Hercules attended Strong Vincent High School, and received his GED.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

He was a loving father, uncle, grandpa, brother, and dearly loved all his family. Hercules loved fishing, was a big Steelers fan, and cooking was his specialty. He loved to box, and he was a fighter to the end. He will be truly missed, and never forgotten. He was the protector of the family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four uncles: William Brown, Adam Brown, Melvin Darby, and Matthew Darby, Jr., his paternal grandparents: Matthew Darby, Sr. and Earthaleen Brown Darby and his maternal grandmother, Iva Margaret Fenton.

In addition to his mother Nancy, and her husband Robert Earl Sanders, survivors include his wife Ruth Williams; children: Hercules Rieger III, Queonia Robison, Ariana Husband, Jalen Rieger-Williams, Jamiah Rieger-Williams, JaAire Rieger-Williams, Lamonte Tate, Jasmyn Williams, Jalisa Eady; sisters: Etta Hurlburt, Georgia Ann Brown, Mary Brown, Christina Rieger (Frances), Darla Rieger (James), Monique Long (Kelvin) of Columbus, Ohio, Melissa Williams, Shirley Rieger, Daisy Brown; brothers: Wallace Rieger and Richard Rieger (Latrice); four grandchildren: A’zjouri, A’zjahni, Du’Mali and one on the way, surviving aunt Annabell Darby and uncle Robert Darby, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and are invited to services there with Reverend Cleveland Ulmer on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
