Henry W. “Hank” Norland, age 81 of Erie, passed away at Pleasant Ridge Manor West on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
He was born in Erie on July 10, 1935 a son of the late Sverre and Henrietta Mueller Norland.
Hank graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School, attended Gannon College and graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor degree in Accounting. He served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950’s.
Hank worked for the U.S. Government as an IRS Agent in the Treasury Department.
He loved sailing, the beach, reading, handball and bike riding.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Agnes Lesko Norland, the only mother he ever knew.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Travers Norland; children Kathleen (Angel) Galarza of Franklin, MA, Amy (Greg) Fenton of Cape Cod, MA, James Norland of Erie, Peggy (Timothy) McNeeley of Erie; grandchildren: Christian and Julia Galarza, Coleman and Ryan Fenton, Emma, Tomas and Molly McNeeley, and one brother Kenneth (Norma) Norland of Vergennes, VT. Many nieces, nephews and good friends also survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., and are invited to the funeral service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
