Henrietta Sherman

     Henrietta Hudson Sherman, 72, of Erie, died Wed., June 5, 2013 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by loved ones.  She was born Nov. 20, 1940 in Lafayette, LA daughter of the late Charles Cole and Rena Hudson Kaeberlein.  A longtime resident of Erie, she graduated from McDowell High School and attended Penn State Behrend where she studied early childhood education.  Henrietta was a supervisor for the transport team at St. Vincent Health Center for 29 years retiring in 2002.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, camping, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald R. Sherman, Sr. in 2005; and a grandson, Nathan Soule.
     Survivors include a son, Donald R. Sherman, Jr. and wife Christine Kita Sherman of Erie; a daughter, Nannett Soule and husband John of Erie; four sisters, Jessie Eyer and husband Delbert of Baltimore, MD, Kathryn LeBlanc and husband Dalton of Lafayette, LA, Carolyn Urso of Erie and Cary Shindledecker and husband James of Corry; six grandchildren, Cara, Kimberly and Cody Sherman, Brittany and Zack Soule, and Julianne Landon Quinn, all of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
     She will be missed by her pets, Cole and Hopey, and will be celebrated as the greatest mother, grandmother, and sister by her family.
     Friends may call Saturday 4 to 6 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
