Helen "Sally" Casey Mink

Helen “Sally” Casey Mink, age 89, of Erie, passed away February 12, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital.

She was born in Erie, August 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Albert B. Casey, II and Helen Brown Casey.

Sally was a graduate of the Villa Maria Academy class of 1953. She was a Society Writer for the Erie Dispatch Herald and was a clerk at the Erie County Library. She was a member of the House of Prayer Community for over 40 years and a member of St. Andrew Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister and a member of the ladies’ guild. Sally enjoyed gardening and calligraphy.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Colleen Casey Dolan, her brother, Albert B. Casey, III and her nephew, Casey Michael Camesi.

Sally is survived by her husband of 69 years, Albert E. Mink, Jr.; five children, Mary Mink, of Willowick, OH, John Mink, Timothy Mink and Stephen Mink, all of Erie, and Mark Mink (Suzanne), of West Haven, CT. Further surviving are four grandchildren, GySgt. Andrew Mink, U.S Marine Corps (Kerry McCain Mink), of Hawaii, Stephanie Mink Spencer (Ryan Spencer), of Erie, Evan Mink and Adam Mink, both of West Haven, CT. Also surviving are her brother, George (Julia) Casey and sisters, Karen Casey (Ronald) Morse and Rosanne Casey (Daniel) Marchini; dear friends, Florence Voelker, Rita Panciera, RSM, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Friends are invited to call on the family Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 1116 West 7th Street, Erie. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie.
