Helen Reynolds

Helen Ruth Allburn Reynolds, age 91, of Erie, died on Monday June 3, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Erie on November 15, 1921, a daughter of the late James and Esther Feasler Allburn.

She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1939. She was the owner and operator of Allburn Florist for 50 years. Helen was a brilliant business woman and fiercely independent. She actually met her future husband in kindergarten, and they later reunited at the flower shop.

Following retirement, she dedicated herself to her husband, children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Reynolds, a brother Frank Allburn, and a brother James Allburn.

Helen is survived by a son, Michael Barrett and his wife Rosemary of Erie, two grandchildren: Chief Petty Officer Christopher Barrett of Norfolk, VA and Abby Barrett of Erie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private arrangements have been made by Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St.
