Helen Laskowski

Helen (Pavlock) Laskowski, age 98, of Erie passed away Thursday April 24, 2025, at UPMC Hamot. She was born on January 14, 1927, in Johnsonburg, PA, the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline (Machcoviak) Pavlock.

Helen will be remembered most as being the wonderful mother of five sons, working in union with her husband “Joe,” to pave their way to enjoy rewarding Christian lives.

Helen was a graduate of the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital and Elmwood Presbyterian Lodge for decades. She was an active member of St. Andrew Catholic church where she was a Eucharistic minister, served as the president of the PTA, and belonged to their Ladies Guild. She also enjoyed her Nurse’s Card club and following the activities and lives of her grand and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Joseph Laskowski; a son Lawrence Laskowski; a brother Marcellus Pavlock, and three sisters, Caroline Labrozzi, Mary Zelenz and Josephine Burfield.

Helen is survived by her four sons; Joseph Laskowski and his wife Barbara of Crawfordville, IN; Thomas Laskowski and his wife Carol of Erie; Daniel Laskowski of Bay Village, OH and Robert Laskowski and his wife Patricia of Rocky River, OH. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren, and many caring nieces and nephews.

Helen’s family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers with Home Instead that took excellent care of their mother.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc., West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am in St. Andrew Catholic Church. The burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew Catholic church or the charity of one’s choice.
