Helen Cousins

Helen Mary (Snyder) Cousins, age 98, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Fairview Manor.

She was born in Johnsonburg, PA on March 10, 1917, a daughter of the late Harry M. Snyder and Emma L. Rapp Snyder.

Helen graduated from Oil City High School in 1935. She was a homemaker and a terrific seamstress. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and former member of the Trinity Guild. Helen enjoyed golfing (Hole in One at Greenmeadow in 1992), bowling with the “Fun at One League” at Shenango Alley, and going to Florida annually.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Cousins; a son, Robert L. Cousins; brothers: Charles, Jack and Raymond Snyder; and daughter in law, Diana L. Cousins.

Helen is survived by her sister, Claire Shingledecker of Titusville, FL; sons: James Cousins and his wife, Judith Ann of Austin, TX, William Cousins of Lake City, PA, Dennis Cousins and his wife Karen of Youngstown, OH; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
