Helen A. Conley, age 93, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Saint Vincent Hospital following a brief illness.
Helen was born in Erie on July 21, 1922 a daughter of the late George and Daisy Aubrey Hartner.
She worked for Loblaws in the Meat Department retiring in 1979 after 20 years of service. She was a member and a volunteer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Asbury Senior Citizens. Helen was a wonderful neighbor. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, especially pizzelles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Raymond “Ray” Conley; a grandson, Paul Conley, great-grandson, Jonathan Aaron Gibbs, three sisters, Louise Lockwood, Catherine Salow and Ruth Dinges and a brother, Clyde Hartner.
She is survived by two sons, Charles and his wife Diane, Dennis and his wife Ruth and a daughter Susan; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Erin, Dennis, Laura, Paula, Michael, Jeffrey and Steven; 13 great-grandchildren, Cian, Morgan, Madison, Austin, Evan, Caleb, Isaac, Lindsey, Justin, Aaron, Samantha, Sky and Olympia and a great-great grandson, Ryland. Several nieces and nephews further survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue) on Saturday from 11 am until the time of service there at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scott Maxwell officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
