Helen Benton

Helen Louise Bayhurst Benton, aged 95, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

She was born on June 4, 1928, to the late Louis and Elma Fisk Bayhurst.

She attended Academy High School and was employed by Grimm’s and Continental as a machinist. She attended Grace Church and loved spending time with her friends and family at Kearsarge Place.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert G. Benton, whom she married in 1956; her brothers, Ray, Ted, David, Larry, William, Donald, and James Bayhurst; and sisters Jean Saccamozzone and Mary E. Covey.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy D. (Benton) McFarland; her son, James K. Benton, and her grandson, Shawn N. McFarland, all of Erie, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Soldiers and Sailors Home or the Erie VA.

Arrangements will be private and are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie, PA 16506.

Private internment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
