Hazen A. Lewis age 94, of Girard passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Elmwood Gardens.
He was born in Fairview on November 17, 1926 a son of the late Clyde and Mabel Henry Lewis.
Hazen was a graduate of Fairview High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Penn Brass and Copper for over 35 years. After retiring, he and his wife traveled throughout the States to visit family and friends.
He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cranesville, PA. He enjoyed his church family and also was a member of Koinonia of Erie County. Hazen was a kind, gentle man that loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, farming, gardening, camping, fishing, playing cards with friends and family, and sharing the spirit of a drink.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Johnson-Fagley; three sisters, Betha Anger, Alice Dagget, and Nina Kruse.
Survivors include his lovely wife of 60 years, Mary Jane Lewis; two sons, John (Sibyll) Rex of Arizona; Richard (Norma Jean) Lewis of Girard; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 8 ½ great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a celebration of Hazen’s life is being planned for in May 2021. Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. Girard.
