Harriette Polchlopek

September 25, 1930 — March 16, 2013

Harriette M. Polchlopek age 82, of Erie, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at UPMC Hamot following heart surgery.

She was born in Poland on September 25, 1930 a daughter of the late Vincent and Teofila Kaluzny.

Harriette was an accomplished chef and later retired her career at the Shriners Hospital for Children. She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral for many years. Harriette had a passion for gardening.

Harriette has raised a wonderful family and treated everyone with the most warm Christian-like love. Family relatives, friends, co-workers. Everyone. We are saddened that we will miss her terribly, yet happy she has gained that elevation and glorious destiny like her parents before her, that she prayed each day for with love and devotion her entire life without fail, reservations, or doubt.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Polchlopek and several brothers.

She is survived by a son, Joseph E. Polchlopek of Erie; three daughters, Christine M Susi and her fiancé Rick Light of Cleveland, OH; Felicia Kraft of North East and Rose Nouri and her husband Sonny of Fairview;; five grandchildren, Jason, James, Elicia, Erica, Nicholas and Preston; one great-granddaughter Taylor; two brothers, Walter and Maurice Kaluzny both of Erie; and two sisters, Sister Leonette Kaluzny Holy Spirit Missionary Order of NY, NY and Helen Kaluzny of Poland; and several nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her loving pet dog "Rocky".

Family and friends may be received at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 W 10th Street Erie, Pa 16502 on Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Cathedral 230 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501 at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. William Biebel, celebrant.

Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter Cathedral.
