Harriet Hirsch

Harriet Hirsch, age 93, passed away on April 27, 2013 at Forestview Health Care Center part of the Springhill Retirement Center.

Harriet was born June 8 , 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Harriet and John Neiser. She married Dr. Jack Hirsch (deceased) and moved to Erie, PA where she raised three sons Dr. Jack Hirsch (Melinda), Dr. Robert Hirsch (Alex), and James Hirsch (Tori).

She was an active member in Erie art associations and enjoyed painting landscapes, portraits and still life. She volunteered for many years at Hamot Medical Center. Harriet also enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family; three sons: Dr. Jack Hirsch, Dr. Robert Hirsch and James Hirsch; and her grandchildren, Allison Hirsch , Alysia Rieske (Jason), Brian Hirsch (Denyse), Erica Hirsch, Lindsey Blair (Jeff), Patrick Hirsch Paul Hirsch, Sabrina Hirsch, Sean Hirsch and great grandchildren, Taylor and Tyson, also numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Neiser.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. 7th Street on Wednesday at 10 am. Rev Timm High officiating.
