Harriet Cowfer

Harriet Cowfer, age 81, of Erie, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at St. Vincent Health Center.

She was born in Spike Island, PA on October 16, 1934, a daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine O’Farrell Penny.

Harriet attended Osceola Mills High School and was a homemaker most of her life.

She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, reading, bird watching and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Cowfer.

Harriet is survived by her son, Larry Cowfer and his wife Giselle of Austin,TX; a daughter, Theresa Artz and her husband Dan of Erie; 5 grandchildren: Heather Bochert, Danny Cowfer, Ron Taylor, BJ Cowfer and Stephanie McIntrye; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters: Dolly Cowfer and Betty Felix; and a sister in law, Betty Cowfer. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St. (at Powell Ave) on Monday from 4-7pm. and on Tuesday at the Heath Funeral Home, 701 Lingle Street, Osceola Mills, PA 16666 from 2:00 until the time of the service at 3pm.
