Harold Thaler

Harold Thaler, age 62, of Erie, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 14, 2018. 

He was born in Erie on September 25, 1955, son of the late Neal and Dorothy Lawrence Thaler.

Harold worked in the Locomotive Division at General Electric for 41 years, until his retirement from there in 2016.  Harold enjoyed taking walks and always wore a smile. He loved meeting new people wherever he went. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Marlene and her husband Roy Peterson. 

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lynn Ruef and their eight children.  He is further survived by his siblings, Norman and Sandy Thaler, Dennis and Kathy Thaler, Karen and Bob Herbert, Sharon and Ken Easton, Brenda Thaler, Dorothy Thaler, Joyce Thaler, Beverly and John Ott, Gloria Thaler and Dan Thaler.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Arrangements were private and entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St., Erie.
