Harold Carr

April 29, 1936 — December 3, 2013

Harold F. "Shorty" Carr, age 77, of Erie died Tuesday December 3, 2013 at his home.
 
He was born on April 29, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Harold F. and Erma Scharf Carr.
 
Harold served in the United States Army.
 
He graduated from Academy High School class of 1956.
 
Harold was employed at Conrail as a foreman for 37 years retirng in 1999 and currently employed at Pine Ave. Beer.
 
 He was a member of St. Mary's Club, Moniuszko Club, VFW Post 3390, Foresters Club, officer at Pulaski Club and former member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
 
Harold enjoyed reading and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Mildred Mae Peterson Carr; daughter, Sherry Carr. 
 
Harold is survived by his companion, Deborah Perry of Erie; sister-in-law, Darlene Gomes of Erie; cousin, Carol Kovacs and husband Karl of Erie; nephews, Chris and Jason Gomes both of Erie; extended family, Melissa Klinzing (Harold); Ryan Angelotti, Harold Klinzing, Tyler Klinzing, Ethan Klinzing, Mitchel Klinzing, Landon Angelotti; beloved dog, C.J.; many dear friends.
 
Friends may call the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Officiating the Rev. Roy P. Washill of St. John's Lutheran Church.  Private interment Erie County Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501.
