Gregory George Inman Jr, age 81, a resident at Regency at South Shore, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 after an eighteen month battle with cancer. Greg was born in Erie, PA, on December 18, 1942 a son of the late Gregory Inman Sr. (Stepmother – Polly Inman) and Elizabeth (Greenlund) Marino (Stepfather – Leonard Marino).
He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School, in Erie, PA. Greg worked in banking for a number of years, mostly with Security Peoples Trust and then in management at what was Knobloch Toyota. Towards the end of his working career he became a co-owner of the Patio Shop in Erie. Greg was a devout member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church, serving in many capacities including treasurer for a number of years.
Greg was proceeded in death, by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Barbara Inman; sister Donna Lindenberger and brother David Inman
He is survived by his three daughters – Sharon Inman, Susan Cessna (William), Carrie Steele (Jason), and son – Steven Inman (Kelli); five grandchildren – Makenna Inman (Reagan), Jessica Cessna (Jason), Mason Inman, Sophia Cessna, and Clara Steele; sisters – Patty Inman, Lenore Coffman (Donald), and Lisa Mikolajczyk (Dave) and many nieces, nephews, and in laws.
Greg loved spending time with his family. Traveling with his wife was one of his favorite things, especially the cruises they had been on or their get aways to Las Vegas. With his wife he also attended a number of Guardian (Indians) games over the years, and there were very few games they missed on tv. He also enjoyed being a member of various social clubs in Erie, such as the Seibenbuerger and Zukor Club and he was a lifetime member of the Erie Maennerchor Club. In addition he was very involved in the Lions Club of Erie and the Circus Saints and Sinners Club of America, which he belonged to for over 35 years.
He never waivered on the promise he made to Barb, whom had been diagnosed with ALS, just a few weeks before his own diagnosis, that he would give all he had into being her primary care giver. The love and support the two provided each other is immeasurable.
The family would like to thank the many Dr.’s and nurses that assisted Greg through his journey and treatments. And also a special thank you to the many aides, nurses and staff from VNA of Erie County and at the Regency. All those who treated Greg always spoke of his kind, caring nature.
