Grace Banks

Grace M. Banks, age 97, of Fairview, passed away, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.

She was born November 11, 1917, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the Theresa Rossi

Genovese and Samuel E. Genovese.

Grace was a member of St. Stephen Episcopal Church, Women of the Church and Altar Guild.

She celebrated the gift of life each and every day, she made everyone around her feel special. Grace had a deep faith in God; one of her favorite sayings was “Life can be beautiful”. She enjoyed her family and friends and remained joyful to the end.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Banks.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Simonelli and husband James of Girard, PA, two sons, Robert W. Banks and wife Diane of Erie, PA and Russell W. Banks of Erie, PA, five grandchildren, Jessica Spaulding, Jena Gonzales, John Banks, Brad Simonelli and Laura Lynde, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by lots of friends and family in the Pittsburgh area.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street, on Wednesday from 2-4pm and are invited to attend a service on Thursday at 11am at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 1070 Dutch Road, Fairview.
