Gordon Walker, Ii

Gordon Joseph Walker II, age 30, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017. He was born in Erie on August 27, 1986, a beautiful son, to Christine Ann Walker and the late Marvin Axel Walker. He was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church,  graduated from Collegiate Academy and attended Mercyhurst University where he attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Gordon worked very hard as a counselor at Harborcreek Youth Services for over nine years and was also a residential aide at Erie Homes for Children and Adults.  

Gordon was a great kid and a person who would help anyone. He loved all sports and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He and his friends had season tickets to the Bills games and he was known as the statistic king. He also liked to golf, play video games, and loved his music.

Gordon is preceded in death by his father, Marvin A. Walker; maternal grandparents, Charles and Olamae Hood; paternal grandparents Gordon and Velva Walker, and an Aunt Diane Price.

Gordon is survived by his loving mother Christine Ann Walker and his stepfather John S. Fisher Jr.; his girlfriend Cortney Miller and their fur baby Duke; his aunt Kathleen Braggins and her husband Jim, his aunt Judy Walker:  cousins Anne Braggins, Laura Braggins Hellman and her husband Jimmy, their children Logan and Zach; and cousins Ron and his wife Coleen Walker and Jen Walker. He is also survived by many, many close friends.

Special thanks to our dear family and friends and may we all have the peace that Gordon has now.

Friends are invited to call on the family at the Burton Funeral Home 602 West 10^th Street Erie PA 16502 on Monday, May 22 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 9:00pm and are invited to a service there on Tuesday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor William Keyes officiating.

Inurnment at Laurel Hill Cemetery to be announced. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Walker family in care of Burton Funeral Home.
