Glenn Wurst, Jr.

Glenn R. Wurst, Jr., 69, of Erie, died on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at St. Vincent Health Center.  He was born on October 28, 1945, in Erie, son of the late Glenn R. Wurst, Sr. and Shirley Koch Wurst.  A 1965 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Glenn was an Assistant Manager of K-Mart Foods.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.  An avid bowler, Glenn was the 1968 Erie District Bowling Association Champion.  He also enjoyed playing golf and won many tournaments.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Charity Huff.
     Survivors include two brothers, David M. Wurst of Las Vegas, NV, and  John W. Wurst and wife Dottie of Waterford; a sister, Mary Huff and husband Ronald of North East; and many nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Additional calling will be held in the Chapel of St. John's Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach Street, Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the church sanctuary at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Erik Young will officiate.
     Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central PA, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 3002, Pgh., PA 15233; St. John's Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach Street, Erie, PA  16502; or a donation can be designated to the AJO Forever Fund through The Erie Community Foundation at 459 W. 6th Street, Erie, PA  16507.
