Glenn Edward “Ed” Helsley, age 87, of Erie, arrived in the presence of his Savior, on March 4th 2021.at Fairview Manor.
Glenn was born in Erie, PA on November 12, 1933. He graduated from Cathedral Prep with the Class of 52, and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Agnes (Farrell) Helsley on March 2, 1957.
Glenn retired from Johnson Controls. He was a man of many talents, and a skilled welder. He created beautiful wrought iron pieces that are still used and treasured by his family. He had the ability to fix just about anything, and often lent his proficiency & skills to family and friends. He was a generous man and an honest man. His word was his bond. Glenn loved his God, his country, and his family. He will be greatly missed.
Glenn is survived by his wife Agnes Helsley, son Mark Helsley, son Christopher (Kristen) Helsley, son Scott (Jessica) Helsley, and daughter Edie (Charlie) Bauschard, brothers David Helsley, Richard Helsley, Clifford Helsley and Joseph Helsley, and sisters Marilyn Hale and Elinore Beer. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott at West Ridge on Wednesday March 10th from 2-4 pm and are invited to attend a service there on Thursday at Noon with Fr. Mike DeMartinis officiating. Services will be livestreamed and can be viewed at www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott.
