Glen Craft

April 7, 1957 — August 27, 2022

Glen Allen Craft, 65, of Lake City, passed from this life to the next adventure on Saturday, August 27, 2022 after a long, courageous, fierce battle with cancer.

He was born in Erie, PA on April 7, 1957, the beloved son of George and Myrna Craft of Girard, PA.  Glen was raised on their Girard farm with his siblings.  His exceptional work ethic was honed at an early age through helping his grandparents at their Fairplain Road farm, and later, through helping his father and brothers with the renovations to the family home.

Glen graduated from Girard High School in 1975.  During high school, he also attended Erie County Technical School, where he learned the tool and die trade that brought so much passion to his life.  An exceptional tool and die maker, Glen truly loved his work and had a “can do” attitude about everything, right up until the end.  He continued working in the trade throughout his life at Girard Tool and Die, Reddog Industries, Anson Tool and Die, and finally at PHB Inc.

He married the love of his life Margo Devers in 1975, and soon after started a family.  Working together, they realized their dream of living in their lakefront home where they raised their children, enjoyed planting and tending many gardens together, and where Glen spent his final days in Margo’s loving care.

Glen loved spending time outdoors in nature; camping, fishing, gardening and traveling.  He especially treasured the lake life with many hours spent on his sailboat “Goodnight Moon”.  Most of all, he absolutely cherished the time he spent with his family, friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his dearly loved son Jason in 2011.

In addition to his parents and Margo, Glen is survived by his beloved daughter, Cassandra Martinez of Erie; his grandchildren, Kiona Craft of Oregon and Anastacio, Patrick, Aurora, Sean and Alexander Martinez of Texas; his brothers, Jeffrey Craft of Girard and George Craft, Jr. of East Springfield; his sister, Tina Williams (Patrick) of Girard; and aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Glen will be deeply missed, and he will remain forever in our hearts and memories.  A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, PA on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ANNA Shelter at 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511 or to the Sarcoma Foundation of America at PO Box 98160, Washington, DC 20090-8160, or via their website at www.curesarcoma.org/donate/.
