Gertrude Wagner

Gertrude C. Rogan Wagner age 86, of Erie, formerly of Lake Placid, FL passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. 

She was born June 14^th, 1932 in New Castle PA, daughter of the late Sarah E. Rogan and Leo J. Rogan. 

Gertrude graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1951. After raising her children, she worked as a PCO for the State Police for 21 years.  Gertrude enjoyed golf, cards, reading, exercise and spending time with her family.  She was also an award winning China painter.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. Wagner, a Korean Veteran; her sisters, Marty Myers, Jane Parks and Sarah Thayer, brother, Jim Rogan and infant son, John L. Wagner. 

She is survived by son, Thomas L. Wagner, of Fleming Island, FL; six daughters, Mary Kim Sorensen (Mike) of Edinboro, Christina Strub (Carl) of Millcreek, Janet McMichael (Timothy) of St. Augustine, FL, Maggie Meyer (Kirk) of Edinboro, Catherine Grappy (David) of Niceville, FL, and Gertrude G. Wagner (Jeff McShane) of Lawrence Park; one brother, Thomas Rogan (Barbara) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and one brother-in-law, Ray Lucas of Sterling, MI; she is further survived by 14 grandchildren,  10 great grandchildren,  3 step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call on Friday, December 21, 2018 at St. Andrew Church, 1116 West 7^th St., Erie, from 12 p.m. until the time of Memorial Mass at 1 p.m.  Arrangements are handled by Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 602 W. 10^th St., Erie.
