Gertrude Bonini

February 3, 1922 — January 2, 2013

     Gertrude Seelinger Bonini, 90, of Erie, died Wed., Jan. 2, 2013 at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge.  She was born Feb. 3, 1922 in Erie, daughter of the late Edward J. and Clara Uhlman Seelinger.  A 1940 graduate of Academy High School, she was an executive secretary for Ernst & Whinney CPA, now known as Ernst & Young LLP, for 44 years retiring in 1987.  She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she served as secretary on church council and volunteered in the office for many years. 
     Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Paul L. Bonini in 1984, and a brother, Richard Seelinger.
     Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Seelinger of Naples FL; three nieces, Patricia Sciaino and husband Steven of Mahwah, NJ, Lareen Trautman and husband Ned of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Darice Hopkins and husband Lynn of Anthem, AZ; five nephews, Richard W. Seelinger, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Seattle, WA, David C. Seelinger and wife Michelle of Saddle River, NJ, Gary Holquist and wife Amy of Charlotte, NC, Allan Zito of New Port Richey, FL and Phillip Legler and wife Elizabeth of Erie; numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins; and her best bud, Aimee Moore of Erie.
     Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St.  A service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach St., Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roy P. Washill officiating.  Burial will be at Erie Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach St., Erie, PA 16502.
