Gerald Smith

Gerald “Jerry” P. Smith, age 46 of Erie, died Monday, July 4, 2016.

He was born in Erie on December 22, 1969, a son of Jean Warren Smith and the late Richard Smith, Sr.

Jerry attended McDowell High School.

He was a carpet layer, and worked for “Joe B’s” Carpet.

In addition to his father Richard Smith, Sr., who died May 1, 2007, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Smith, Jr. in 1999.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter Shaelynn Smith, his sister, Tracy Gordon (Tim), all of Erie; his brother Timothy D. Smith of Bowling Green, Ohio, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry loved animals, especially his dogs. He loved car racing, snowmobiling and three wheeling in his younger years. He loved to cook, but he was not a master chef. He was an avid Steelers fan, and was a fun loving, family guy. He truly loved his daughter Shaelynn, she was his life!

Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at 26th & Powell Ave.) on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m.

Burial in Sheakleyville Cemetery.
