George Robinson, Sr.

    George E. Robinson, Sr., 86, of Erie, died Sat., Oct. 4, 2014, at Sarah Reed Retirement Center.  He was born March 20, 1928, in Jackson, KY, son of the late Jasper and Lucinda Spicer Robinson.  A Longtime resident of Erie, Mr. Robinson was a builder with Humpy Builders for twenty years retiring in 1988.  He had also owned and operated Robinson Construction for twenty years and worked for Neil Potter Construction for nine years.  He was a former member of the Nova Aurora Club and Sons of Italy.
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Oaks Robinson in 1974; a son, George E. Robinson, Jr.; four brothers, Avil, Mitchell, Jim, and Lonnie Robinson; and three sisters, Millie Corcoran, Mary Jane Johnson, and Lizzia Tomlin.
     Survivors include two daughters, Norma Cross and husband Miles of Waterford and Ruby Irwin of Springboro, PA; two sons, Anthony Robinson and wife Virginia of Waterford and Ernest Robinson and wife Virginia of Erie; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service there at 6 p.m.  The Rev. Richard A. Moyer will officiate.  Private burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
