George Ehret

October 30, 1937 — January 10, 2017

George Robert Ehret, age 79, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Fairview Manor.

He was born in Erie on October 30, 1937, son of the late Emil Ehret and Elizabeth (Brogden) Ehret.

After George graduated from McKean High School, he immediately joined the Navy where he served for three years. He then worked at Erie Foundry Company/Erie Press Systems for 40 years until he retired.

George was a true family man, who enjoyed taking his wife and children camping, biking and hiking. During these family times he always remembered to give credit to Jehovah God for the beautiful creation surrounding them.

He was an active member of the Asbury Heights congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 48 years. He was so grateful to be used in the Christian Congregation and loved sharing the Bible’s wonderful hope (Psalm 37:29) for the future with many people.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Donna (Davis) Ehret; three loving children, Autumn Ehret of Erie, Shelby Morris and her husband Roy of Conway, AK, and Matthew Ehret and his wife Melissa of Girard; two grandchildren, Samuel Morris and Lincoln Ehret and a sister, Mariann Zmyslinski and her husband Dr. Ronald Zmyslinski of Cornville, AZ.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Asbury Heights Congregation, 3604 Asbury Road, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.

Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street.

Memorials may be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of NY, Inc. at www.JW.org .
