Gary L. Stockton age 71, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
He was born in Erie on September 20, 1951 a son of the late Duane and Shirley Stockton.
Gary graduated from Strong Vincent High School. He then went on to become a boilermaker. He was the proud member of Boiler Maker’s Union Local #744 until he retired after 35 years.
Gary was a very generous man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and playing golf. He enjoyed taking road trips, especially after he retired and got his little BMW convertible. He also loved riding his motorcycle where he actually took a trip around the country. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing pool and was part of a team that won a PA State Championship. Gary was a proud American and loved this country. He was an avid dog lover and loved spending time with his daughter Jamie, who was the love of his life.
He was a member of the Sportsmen’s Athletic Club and the Millcreek American Legion Post #773.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rob Gustafson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Suzie Diemer Stockton; his daughter, Jamie Amann and her husband Tim; two grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah Amann; two brothers, Todd Stockton and Jamey Gustafson , his wife Kim and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W, 26th Street on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the service at the American Legion Post #733.
