Gary Staynoff

Gary C. Staynoff, age 68, of Waterford; passed away at his residence with his beloved wife and daughter at his side on Saturday May 30, 2020.

He was born in Erie on April 4, 1952 a son to the late Harry K. and Nellie (Laskoff) Staynoff. He graduated from East High School, class of 1970. He lived in the Erie area for many years after moving back home from Tampa, FL having worked and retired most recently from Andy’s Equipment and Restaurant Exchange for almost 20 years as the manager of operations. 

Gary loved sailing, was a huge Cleveland Indians fan as well as being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed Formula One racing, golfing, fishing and hunting. He was blessed to have many lifelong friends whom he considered family. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Lynn D. (Makynen) Staynoff and their daughter Katie Jones and her husband Phil of Edinboro.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters Ruth DeMichele, Marlene Strauss, and Beverly Kratz.  

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26^th St. Erie, PA 16506. Private visitation will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday June 5, 2020 followed by a funeral service. CDC guidelines will be followed.
