Gary Scarpitti, Sr.

Gary G. Scarpitti, Sr., age 69, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Erie on January 23, 1951, a son of the late Edward Scarpitti, Sr. and Virginia Myers Scarpitti.

He was a 1969 graduate of Tech Memorial High School. Gary served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Health South, in Las Vegas, NV retiring in 2015.

He was an antique car enthusiast and also enjoyed driving his 2007 Dodge Charger.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McLaughlin, a sister, Maxine Zydonik and a brother, David Scarpitti, Sr.
Gary is survived by his four children, Tina M. (Dana) Dash of Fairview, PA, and Tiffany Brookhouser, Gary Scarpitti, Jr. and Sean Campbell, all of Erie and three step-children, Heather Love and Holly Love, both of Las Vegas, NV and Harry “Chip” Love, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a sister, Carole Luschini of Fairview, PA, and brother, Edward Scarpitti, Jr. of Millcreek and several nieces and nephews further survive.
He was especially fond of his pets, Zeus and Buddy. They were there for him through all his good and bad times.

There will be a reception of friends held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street, from 3 p.m. until the time of service there at 5 p.m. with Father Mike DeMartinis officiating. The service will be livestreamed on our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott. Military Honors by the Erie Crawford County Burial Detail will immediately follow the service. ALL CDC guidelines will be adhered too including wearing masks, following capacity limits and social distancing.
