Gary Klepfer

Gary Allan Klepfer age 67, of Millcreek, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at St. Vincent Medical Center.

He was born on December 27, 1953, son of the late Byron “Barney” and Eva (Smith) Klepfer.

After graduating from McDowell High School in 1972, he pursued his education at Behrend College, Erie Institute of Technology and Cleveland Institute of Electronics earning an Industrial Electronics Degree. Gary was employed as an electrical engineer at Automation Devices, Inc. for 22 years.

Gary was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his wife, children and siblings. He had many interests in his life, including boating, designing and building projects, riding his motorcycle, observing wildlife in his backyard, photography and he especially enjoyed music and playing his grand piano. Gary was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Byron Jr. and William Klepfer and Larry Cappelletty.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rebecca Klepfer, two children, Megan Mercantini (James) and Kathleen Klepfer; two step-children, Elizabeth and Michael Bainbridge; two grandchildren, Eva and Leo; five siblings, Arthur Cappelletty, Joann Erven, Nancy Robison, Korky Palmer (Gene) and Karl Klepfer (Kathy); his longtime best friend, Jeff Weaver and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Gary’s Life at the Rotary Pavilion, Presque Isle at Waterworks on Monday, July 26th starting at 6:00 p.m. We wanted to give people a chance to share a memory and to say goodbye to a wonderful man.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
