Gary Crockett

Gary Stephen Crockett, Sr. age 62, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at UPMC Hamot Hospital, Erie.

He was born on July 6, 1959, in Joliet, Illinois, the son of the late Charles “Joe” and Christine (Wyatt) Crockett.

Gary graduated from Technical Memorial High School, class of 1978. He would then go on to serve the country in the United States Air Force. Gary was an ambitious and creative entrepreneur, always seeking new opportunities, and thinking outside of the box. He enjoyed travelling throughout Europe, particularly England, where he was stationed in the Air Force and met the mother of his children. Gary had a keen interest in buying, selling and making furniture, and all things paranormal. Gary enjoyed recounting his days working as a chauffeur, meeting celebrities, and at one point being employed by and living with Diana Ross. For the past 20 years, he lived a childhood dream of working for Norfolk Southern as a railroad engineer.

He will be forever missed by his two sons, Gary Crockett, Jr. (Ksenia) and Stephen Crockett; two sisters, Stephanie O’Rourke (Thomas) and Stacey Gall; grandchildren, Jacob and Dana Crockett; niece, Taylor O’Rourke; and his dear friend, Rebecca McKinney.

Friends may call on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:30 A.M. at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc Downtown, 602 W 10th St, Erie 16502 with Reverend Owen Rhodes, of New Jerusalem Church, officiating.
