Frederick Mcalister

     Frederick T. McAlister, 80, of Erie, died Mon., Aug. 25, 2014 at the VA Medical Center.  He was born Dec. 24, 1933 in Stoneboro, PA, son of the late Andrew Thomas and Margaret Tibbens McAlister.  He graduated from Lakeview High School, Stoneboro, PA, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict having served aboard the USS Boxer (CVA-21).  He worked for Hammermill Paper Co. retiring in 1992 after 36 years.  Mr. McAlister was a member and past president of the Buick Club of America.  He was a member of Lawrence Lodge No. 708 F.& A.M., Erepa Grotto, and a 32nd Degree member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Erie.  He was a life member of VFW Billy Simpson Post 470, and belonged to the Zukor and Siebenbuerger Clubs.  He was one of the Pittsburgh Steeler's biggest fans and enjoyed NASCAR.
     A son, Sean McAlister, preceded him in death.
     Survivors include his wife with whom he was crazy in love and married for 57 years, Autumn Johnson McAlister; three daughters, Peg Lundstrom and husband Marty and Leora Kramer and husband George, all of Erie, and Jen Kader and husband Charles of Massena, NY; four grandchildren, Axel Lundstrom and wife Marissa of Elmsford, NY, Autumn Lundstrom and fiancé Keith Elders of Johnstown, PA,  and Melissa and Amanda Lucente, both of Pgh., PA; a great-granddaughter, Quinn Rose Elders of Johnstown; a daughter-in-law, Hilary McAlister of Erie; and a nephew, Steve McAlister and wife Regina of Fowler, OH.
     Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St.  A service will be held there Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Kenneth Laber, Interim Pastor of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating.  Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy and VFW Billy Simpson Post 470.
